The West Spanish Peak summit (elevation 13,626 ft.) may be reached by a trailhead at the Wilderness Area. At 9,150 feet, River Run at Spanish Peaks provides wonderful views of the moon, stars and even the Milky Way as there are dark skies and little light pollution. River Run at Spanish Peaks has been developed by two Coloradoans who have been a part of Cuchara for decades. Their understanding of the area has inspired them to create something that is different and captures the best of Cuchara Valley and Colorado mountain dreams. Cuchara's first new development in over 20 years, the area features underground utilities in most areas and access to sewer and water services through the Cucharas Sanitation & Water District.
